Ally Financial’s “Get Wise” Campaign to Drive Financial Literacy

Ally Financial announced the rollout of its new “Get Wise” financial literacy campaign, which will begin this week as a challenge to consumers to engage in “Four Weeks to Get Wise” about financial literacy.  The program includes a financial education curriculum designed to teach individuals and families regarding the basic concepts of personal finance, while enabling them to establish and achieve their personal financial goals.

The core element of the program will consist of weekly tips and videos on personal finance that will be distributed via Twitter and YouTube during the month of April, which is Financial Literacy Month.  Ally believes that social media will be a leading platform for the delivery of financial education in the months and years ahead.

The “Get Wise” program represents just the latest of many financial literacy initiatives that Ally supports and executes on a continuing basis.  Its Wallet Wise program has been successful in providing free in-person and online courses that teach individuals about personal finance.

Ally also will be hosting over thirty-five Wallet Wise financial education sessions throughout the country in April.  Financial literacy enthusiasts are estimating this year’s Financial Literacy Month to result in the most efforts ever by financial services companies like Ally to promote financial education during the month, but also to continue the financial literacy efforts on a continuous basis throughout the year.  In turn, they contend, this will further drive the growth and success of the financial literacy movement in the years ahead.
