Fifth Third Bank’s eBus Drives Financial Literacy to New Heights

Fifth Third Bank continues to take its community outreach efforts to new heights, as their eBus and eBus II drive through the bank’s key markets targeting individuals and families with financial education in low income regions that historically have lacked banks and financial resources.  The goal of the eBuses, which also are known as the Fifth Third Financial Empowerment Mobiles, is to empower individuals to better manage their personal finances.

The first eBus was rolled out nearly 10 years ago and has since surpassed 100,000 individuals served.  eBus II was created and launched into the marketplace in 2011 in order to reach even more individuals with Fifth Third’s financial education tools and resources.  While initially developed as a way in which the bank could meet its obligations under the Community Reinvestment Act, the eBus program has resulted in a broad range of partnerships with nonprofit and community organizations, which further helps penetrate populations that typically have been underserved by banks.
