Financial Literacy Legislation Introduced By U.S. Rep. Matt Cartwright

by | 08/04/13 | Commentary, News, Uncategorized

Building on the fast-growing rise in financial literacy funding across the United States, Rep. Matt Cartwright has introduced the Financial Literacy for Students Act, HR 2920.  The Act, having support of more than 20 other Representatives, would establish incentive grants to states that provide financial education in Title I public elementary and secondary schools.  Not only would the grants allow for “flexibility, creativity and innovation” in terms of how financial literacy is integrated into school curricula, but it also would foster professional development and training for educators intent on teaching students financial education.  For more information regarding the Act, you can read more here.
