IBC Bank just announced that it has partnership with American soccer team Laredo Heat to develop and offer financial literacy lessons and soccer clinics to children at Boys & Girls Clubs. Both IBC Bank and the Laredo Heat contend that good sportsmanship, taught by playing soccer, and a strong financial education require commitment and dedication, which is a central theme of this initiative.

IBC has been a supporter of the Boys & Girls Clubs for a long time as part of the bank’s commitment to the community, and financial education has been an important component of that support. The bank has grown to over $11 billion in assets, making it one of the largest holding companies in Texas. And with its larger size has come an even greater dedication to assisting individuals and families in the communities served by the bank with their overall personal financial wellness.

IBC Bank's Money Buzz program employs the bank’s deep financial experience to educate young people regarding the importance of budgeting, saving and managing their financial affairs. Likewise, the Bank’s Smart Zone program offers consumers a broad range of online resources and information that enable them to become more empowered with respect to their personal financial affairs.

Boys & Girls Clubs also have been engaged with financial education for many years, rolling out financial literacy initiatives directly and through partnerships that have enhanced the financial literacy of thousands of youth.

Given the commitment of IBC Bank, the Laredo Heat, and Boys & Girls Clubs to financial education, industry observers anticipate that this will be a highly successful program.
