With its announcement that the financial services giant will be ending its sponsorship of the New York City Marathon after 10 years, ING stated that it will focus on supporting financial literacy.  To learn more about ING’s sponsorship plans and continued support of financial education, you can read more here.

The financial literacy community also was buzzing today about the partnership announced by American Student Assistance (ASA) with IEG, a leader in sponsorship intelligence, to develop sponsorship opportunities for SALT, a financial education membership program that leverages the student loan experience to teach financial concepts to students.  SALT enables users to use the program during the full course of the loan.  Not only is there a well-developed financial education curriculum, but one-on-one financial counseling also is available to participants.

Under the partnership arrangement, IEG will work with ASA to create targeted corporate partnerships that give sponsors a broad range of benefits, such as content integration and co-branded awareness campaigns. ASA President Paul Combe had this to say regarding the partnership, “we are thrilled to bring in IEG’s talent and expertise in building sponsorship programs to further our mission of empowering students to make better financial decisions.” To learn more about the partnership, see read more here.
