The global financial education community is buzzing over the presentation by OECD Secretary-General Angel Gurría and Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov of the results of their joint report on Advancing National Strategies for Financial Education. The report underscores the action being taken by many governments to address the long-term implications of low levels of financial literacy.

The presentation was made during the G20 Summit meeting in Saint Petersburg and the findings illustrate progress being made by the governments of many of the world’s major economies in implementing national strategies for improving financial education.  In particular, the report details the key components of their national financial literacy strategies and their implementation experiences.  It also presents a number of potential areas ripe for policy action in the months and years ahead. A copy of the full report can be accessed here.
