Financial Education Demands Concerning Teacher Training

This paper aims to map out the structure of the financial literacy of first year students in the Faculty of Education of the University of South Bohemia in 2011. Its purpose was to direct the adjustment of the content and methods of the subjet "An Introduction to Finance," which was established as a response to the governmental strategy for financial education in the Czech Republic in 2007. The research showed the expected change to the financial literacy of students and therefore it helped to direct future orientation of the financial education of both future and practicing teachers. The Paper presents a method of the research with the following recommendations and conclusions of the authors aimed at both secondary school financial education and the appropriate teacher training programs.
