Union Bank Launches Financial Literacy Mobile App for Kids

Union Bank’s move into the mobile financial literacy space represents the latest in the fast-growing trend among financial services companies to roll out mobile and digital apps for children to become better educated about money and finance. Union Bank announced the launch of its Yuby app for kids, which is designed as an engaging, fun and educational tool that teaches children about the importance of budgeting, saving, spending and charitable giving.

Mutual Mobile developed Yuby in partnership with Union Bank and the application is now available for free download via smartphones, tablets and other digital devices. Yuby is at the intersection of the sharp growth of the financial literacy movement and the skyrocketing use of mobile devices by children.

Yuby’s robust tools and offerings are earning high marks among many who have become familiar with this solution. Those tools include a way to manage chores and earn money by completing those tasks, as well as an activity log to monitor money earned and spent from each activity.

Union Bank, Mutual Mobile, and all other supporters of the Yuby solution contend that the app will keep kids engaged, while sparking their interest in learning more about money and financial matters. The launch of Yuby coincides with a major focus in both developed and developing countries on the lack of financial education among young people. As such, many industry observers are watching closely the success of Yuby and other financial literacy mobile apps to gage which elements are the most sought after, which will spark greater development and production of those financial education solutions.
