Visa partners with Baizat to launch series of financial literacy workshops in the UAE

Global payments company Visa and UAE-based financial consulting firm Baizat have teamed up to develop and launch a series of financial education programs in the UAE. The initiative is designed to offer information, tools and resources to help individuals and families become more financially educated and to empower them to make more informed decisions with respect to their financial lives.

In one of the first rollouts of the program, workshops were held for students in Masafi using various modules from the “My Money Skills Workbooks” initially developed by Visa. The modules are available in both English and Arabic and they are widely credited with helping young people learn the basics of finance and money management.

Visa is no stranger to the development and execution of financial literacy programs, having focused on financial education and financial inclusion since the mid-1990s. The company’s worldwide financial literacy strategy is today existing in more than thirty countries, in addition to strong Web initiatives, wuch as its award-winning Practical Money Skills for Life program.

Financial literacy professionals are watching this partnership closely, as many contend that it is a bellwether initiative in the UAE and in surrounding areas, as the success of this program could lead to other innovative partnerships that similarly will help drive financial literacy to new heights.
