Financial Literacy Selfie Contest Drives Broad Awareness for Financial Education

To raise very significant visibility for financial literacy in Canada and beyond, and to help drive substantial interest in Financial Literacy Month, which Canada celebrates annually during the month of November, the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada (FCAC) is running a photo contest called “My Financial Literacy Selfie” to engage youth and Canadians of all ages to explore ways of improving their financial literacy.

In order to participate in the Selfie Contest, individuals are required to submit a selfie showing how they use their financial skills or how they help others become more educated about important financial literacy topics.  Eligible photos will be posted on the FCAC’s Financial Literacy Month Facebook page.

FCAC has convened a panel of judges to select winning selfies based on a variety of factors, including originality, quality and adherence to the theme. Three prizes will be awarded: a Macbook Pro (first place), a Mac Mini (second place) and an iPod Touch (third place).  In addition, the “People’s Choice” award will be presented to the contestant who submits the photo that ultimately receives the most “Likes” on the FLM Facebook page.

You can find more information about the contest, including details on how to submit a selfie, here.
