Financial Literacy Shines During Military Saves Week; National Nonprofits Join Forces

Military Saves Week continues to bring significant news to financial literacy enthusiasts, as scores of local and national nonprofits are rolling out new initiatives to help improve the financial wellbeing of military service members and their families.  In one of the latest noteworthy developments, two national nonprofits, Better Business Bureau (BBB) and Operation Homefront, have announced that they are entering into a groundbreaking financial literacy partnership.

The relationship leverages the strengths and expertise of both organizations.  Under the partnership, BBB will direct military families to emergency financial assistance offered by Operation Homefront.  At the same time, Operation Homefront will steer military families to BBB for help in resolving issues with their creditors, while also providing educational materials and resources from BBB Military Line to those seeking greater understanding and empowerment with respect to their financial affairs.

Military Saves Week is an annual initiative for installations and organizations to promulgate the virtues of financial education and informed decision making with respect to personal financial affairs.  In recent years, thousands of organizations have participated in Military Saves Week and the initiative remains highly impactful as a means of improving the financial condition of participants.  Likewise, the Better Business Bureau and Operation Homefront are doing their part too, as their partnership bodes very well for financial literacy among military service members and their families in the coming months and years.
