ANZ’s flagship financial literacy initiative, Money Minded, has surpassed 200,000 individuals who have benefited from the Australian financial education program.  In recognition of the program’s success in improving the financial literacy among the country’s populace, this year’s MoneySmart Week Awards also has named Money Minded the recipient of the 2013 Community Award.

The Money Minded initiative has been evaluated each year by RMIT University, which measures the program’s success.  RMIT’s most recent report indicated a number of key findings, including that 93% of participants felt more empowered regarding their financial affairs after completing the program, 80% exhibited lower levels of stress relating to their futures, and more than 90% felt that they had greater capacity to successfully handle their expenses and debt.

The Money Minded program is a partnership among several organizations, including Anglicare SA, Mission Australia, The Benevolent Society, Berry Street, Brotherhood of St. Laurence, and Kildonan UnitingCare.
